Apple (Vitamin C; Fibre)

Rich in Vitamin C, apples help to strengthen your child’s immune defences. The fibre they contain, called Pectin, helps to maintain blood sugar levels thereby allowing sustained energy release. Apples also contain Quercetin, an antioxidant phytonutrient that also enhances the absorption of Vitamin C. In addition, Quercetin has antihistamine properties, which makes it a useful anti-allergy substance. Traditionally, apples have been used to treat digestive upsets; offer raw grated apple for constipation and stewed apple for diarrhea.
